Have you ever heard of the nesting instinct?

According to Wikipedia it is this:

 

In humans

In human females, the nesting instinct often occurs around the fifth month of pregnancy^[1][4], but can occur as late as the eighth, or not at all^{[citation needed]}. It may be strongest just before the onset of labor.^[1][5][6]

It is commonly characterized by a strong urge to clean and organize one's home and is one reason why couples who are expecting a baby often reorganize, arrange, and clean the house and surroundings.

I’m sure you are now wondering why I posted that.

BEFORE BABY GETS HERE

Master Bath

· Paint walls

· Paint cabinets

· Re-Caulk shower

· Blinds

Master Bedroom

· Blinds

· Dust

· Clean under bed

· Clean nightstand

· Top of dressers

Laundry room

· Change light fixture (one can light)

· Clean floor

Boys’ room

· Clean carpet

· Blinds

· Toy tubs to basement (except 2)

Hallway upstairs

· Mr. Clean walls where kids scribbled (by master bedroom)

· Blinds

Stormy & Sage room

· Clean carpet

· Blinds

Shayne’s room

· Clean carpet

· Fresh coat of paint {?}

· Blinds

Duck bathroom

· Get hooks off of wall

· Patch

· Repaint walls same color

· Paint cabinets {same color just latex paint}

Living room

· Blinds

Dining room/Office

· Blinds

· Clean carpet

· School stuff organized

· Desk

· Filing cabinet

Kitchen

· Clean above cabinets

· Clean fridge {inside & out}

· Organize drawers {ALL!}

Basement

· Organize

· Clean rug {?}

· Clean bathroom

And the next question you have will be what does Paul think of these lists?

He.hates.them.

He has to do a lot of the stuff on the list just because…he knows I will get it done one way or another. He’d rather it not hurt me. AND he knows it makes me crazy to not have it done. How crazy?

That’s bad folks.

This list isn’t too overboard actually. It is all stuff that I have been wanting done for some time…but now with baby so close…I want it done sooner rather than later. I know when she gets here my attention will be on her and the other darlings. And the house?

Will be clean before that happens or so help me…it will get ugly up in here!

I’m only half joking.

Oh…the list of stuff I still need to get for the baby…isn’t this bad. But I do have one. Of course.
