The most disgusting part of our getaway…

Sooo…we shopped and shopped and shopped. Most of the shopping was walking. Checking out the stores and all that. We did get dressed up after a soak in the hot tub (for Paul and my feet), and we did eat dinner.

What was so disgusting?

Can you tell what it is?

I moved the pillow so I could get into bed and that is what I saw.

Blood.

On.

The.

Sheets.

It.

WAS

NOT

MINE!!

To be completely frank—I was immediately disgusted and pissed off.

Paul called the front desk. They sent housekeeping up. Housekeep stripped the bed and held up the sheets they were going to put on the bed. I could see DIRT on them.

I’m pretty sure I had flames coming off of me at this point.

Security shows up to bag the bloody sheets. He’s wearing gloves and all that. I just said, “This is gross. I don’t have any cuts on my hands. That isn’t my blood. NASTY.”

He wasn’t sure what to say.

Housekeeping had left to get the clean sheets…that were actually clean and came back and  made the bed. I soooo didn’t want to lay down. The front desk called to check on us. Paul kept saying,  “Yes. They came. It’s okay…” Me? “STOP TELLING THEM IT’S OKAY. IT IS SOOOOO FAR FROM OKAY!!!” He then said, “My wife would like to have a word with you.”

I explain the situation.

Her response?

“Would you like to speak to a manager?”

“Yes. Yes I would.”

The manager calls up to the room like 20 minutes later (It was close to 11PM at this point).

He feels bad. He says it’s nasty. The only thing he can do at this point is monetary compensation. They did ask if we wanted to switch rooms.

And risk another dirty room?

I think not.

They did comp our room for the evening. And gave us 2 bottles of water (nice right?).

By the way…I won’t reveal the name of the hotel but I will tell you it wasn’t some cheap, crappy hotel. Which goes to show you…it doesn’t matter!

It was a 4-star hotel.
