The year that is! What a crazy year it has been.
First let me finish off my photo challenge…
Ready?
12.27.2011—I canNOT believe my oldest is almost 10. In a couple of weeks. I am going to dig up some old pics of her to scan in. Since she was born in olden days…before we went digital!
12.28.2011—MOVIE night at home with Momma! And I have no idea what is on the carpet.
12.29.2011—CRAPOLA.
12.30.2011—I love this picture. Connor was showing Cooper his Optimus Prime. Sage was just running around in heels and jammies.
12.31.2011—Yep. This is from today. Where we had a cool 62°. SERIOUSLY. It was that warm. Which is crazy for the midwest!
So---let’s do what I said at the beginning of this post. Wrap it up! I started the blog this year.
So how many posts total am I finishing up with?
275 (not including this one). Which isn’t too bad I suppose. It’s a lot less than I had planned. I really do enjoy blogging. It is the perfect journal for me.
What about the challenges I set out with?
Cooper’s weekly challenge?
I didn’t miss a single one. Which is crazy. 52 photos of me catching him on his week birthday. What is crazy about that is how many shots I missed of my self-imposed daily photo challenge.
I am still pretty happy with how many I did catch. I managed to get…352 photos. Go ahead and pull up your calculator to see how many that means I missed.
Also…check a few more symbols…I am finding all kinds of new things out about my keyboard. WHICH I’m sure I could google and find all the short cuts but where is the fun in that? ® No—that isn’t the whole keyboard. Do you know which keys those are? Do this: Hit the parentheses key ( and then hit a letter, you pick which one to see if it is a shortkey and then hit the end parentheses key ) and voila! Magic. (NO SPACES IN BETWEEN the letter and the parentheses!)
What did 2011 bring?
This year brought lots of smiles.
Lots of playing in the snow (that was obviously really early in 2011. Yep. Blizzard of 2011!)
Lots of firsts for many…
First time to beach/ocean.
REALLY BAD SUNBURN.
Lots of pride.
Tractor rides.
First time bucket feeding calves…
Playing with cousins…
Lots of memories…
Learning to FINALLY capture a lighting strike. And it’s still going to take a LOT of practice to get it again.
2011 was not only the year of the blizzard, it was the year that we learned to NOT put fingers in snowblowers. The hard way.
It was the year that make-up was played with.
It was the year for trying new foods…
The year for a 4th grader, 2nd grader and a repeat kindergartener.
The summer of baseball and softball.
Where we learned even when we miss, we swing again and…
WE CAN MAKE IT!
The summer of watching someone we love ride in a parade with a lot pride.
It was a the year we celebrated a first birthday…
It was the year we were so full of love and joy at the thought of another baby.
That moment changed to utter heartbreak when a sonogram revealed bad news.
It was the Christmas that we got to spend together. It was also a Christmas that I will be forever grateful for friends and family that helped me get through a VERY rough time after dealing with heartbreak.
Heartbreak that paused so that I could smile at my darlings as they opened their gifts on Christmas.
It was definitely a year full of EVERYTHING!
So—what kind of New Year’s resolutions do you have?
I have some standard ones…
1. Be a better Mom. Wife. Friend. Daughter. Daughter-in-law. Sister. Etc. I want to be a better person.
2. LOSE weight. Never mind on the losing weight. How about getting more healthy? Weight loss should happen if I make a goal to be more healthy. Not say I’m going to and then nothing. I am going to commit myself to working out at least 4 days a week. I know it could be more but…I don’t want to. Simple as that. If I want to work out more…I will. BUT at the very least, 4 days. I’m going to commit myself to eat better.
3. Blog more. Obviously this will only happen during quiet time at my house. Or after I put the darlings to bed. BUT I do want to work more at it.
4. Decide where I want to go with my photography. More babies? More families? More weddings? Slow down and just do my kids? No more studio shoots?
And you? What say you? Any resolutions you want to share?
ALSO—VOTES on photo challenge for next year?
YES or NO.
