Father’s Day…

Remember Paul, the day you became a Daddy?

I do. It was the most painful moment of my life.

That night when you were snoring in the little roll-out bed and I was pelting you with ice trying to make you either get up and help me or stop snoring, I couldn’t have imagined loving you more.

You cried when our daughter was born. You held her and looked at her. And I didn’t think I could love you more. I knew you were going to be a great daddy.

Do you remember when our whirlwind was born? You almost missed it because I had to have my pillow for labor so you went home to get it for me.

And you held Stormy when you were trying to sleep before working an all nighter. I didn’t think I could love you more.

Do you remember when you became the Daddy to a son? You looked so proud holding him. I didn’t think I could love you more.

Do you remember when our darling Sage was born? You felt bad because you weren’t really sure of the timing for our 4th child. You held her and held her and held her. I didn’t think I could love you more.

Do you remember when Cooper was born? You drove 90mph to get to the hospital. You were more nervous with this one than any before. We all cried when he was born. You got your second son. I didn’t think I could love you more.

I was wrong each time of course. Every time I don’t think I can love you more…I do.

You are an amazing Daddy. I know your job makes it difficult to be there for all the little things. The kids know how much you love them. But today, on Father’s Day, I want you to know how much we love you.

We couldn’t love you more.
