I watched in disbelief what was unfolding in our country.
I had a Dr. appointment following my cerclage the week before. We had to go all the way down town to a hospital there. I was unfamiliar with everything there. Despite all the differences in everyone that day…we were all one.
The Doctors, nurses, staff, patients, and everyone in between…all stood in hallways watching the televisions in the waiting rooms. Transfixed in our disbelief.
I was pregnant with Shayne. How would I be able to keep this precious life safe from a world like what was on television?
To this day…I remind myself and my kids how lucky we are to live in this country.
We are far from perfect.
Man is that an understatement.
BUT…we live in the land of the free.
Because of the brave.
My heart still aches for the families that lost loved ones that day.
I will never forget.
