Life’s a beach…

The whole reason we drove farther was so that the kids would get to go to the beach. See the ocean. FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER.

It was totally worth the drive. Well…almost. No, it was. Well…maybe.

Okay…Photograph warning.

MANY PHOTOS AHEAD.

IF YOU DON’T LIKE LOOKING AT PICTURES, CLICK ON THE RED X IN THE UPPER RIGHT HAND CORNER OF YOUR SCREEN.

So what did the darlings think of the ocean?

“Why isn’t it blue?”

What did the think of the way it felt?

They were very cautious. It made me giggle while holding the camera.

Shayne being the oldest, braved the water first. Stormy being the second oldest stepped out to check things out. Connor barely got his feet in. And Sage? We found with this trip she’s more of a land and dry dock kind of gal.

Eventually, the kids all made it in and out of the water numerous times. Stormy was ready to quit after getting salt water up her nose for the fifth time. HA! Although, I was done with the ocean after it happened to me twice.

I’m not forgetting someone. He did get to check everything out too.

He wiggled his toes like crazy.

He spent most of the time like this:

IMG_9877

Yep. In the shade. or like this:

We had to rinse him off a few times though. He kept scootching to the sand!

My twin went with her family.

IMG_0087

Yes. That’s the same twin that is deathly afraid of birds pooping on her.

There we both are. Now me, being my father’s oldest daughter did what any oldest child would do.

Tortured my younger siblings.

Some things will never change.

I had a bag of chips. Do you know what happens when you drop chips on the beach?

Yep. Seagulls appear in mass.

Making me laugh out loud and my twin duck and cover.

I don’t know how the chips kept getting tossed her direction. It must have been the wind.

And that licorice she threw? That was not my fault.

The birds wouldn’t eat it.

Until it was torn into little pieces and tossed on top of her vehicle anyways.

IMG_1766

Yes. Those are her legs peeking out of her truck.

So were her fears confirmed?

Someone did get pooped on.

Stormy loved jumping the waves!

Sage loved jumping…on the sand.

Stormy was a shell collecting fool.

Me and the cutest Coop ever!

Shayne and her cousin, Callahan played so much at the beach. Shayne was also the most burnt of my whole crew.

The kids loved the fact that after the water receded, more shells would be there.

My sweet Connor. He wanted to jump too.

My twin’s daughter’s. Still play together.

Here’s proof:

Something I hate about beaches?

Besides sand.

Seaweed. Yuck.

Something I don’t hate about the beach?

My 2-year-old’s cute booty in her ladybug swimming suit.

Shayne, Connor and Callahan on one of the many breaks from the water for a sunscreen re-application. Which didn’t even help. Or maybe it did. I shudder to think of how bad it could’ve been without sunscreen!

I didn’t get as many photos of Shayne because she was almost always in the water!

These 2 were shade bound almost the whole day.

Connor was in heaven with all the digging!

Paul lost his Oakley sunglasses and his wedding gift from me, a gold chain that he wears {wore} in place of a ring.

One family image from right after getting to the beach.

Yep, Sage is crying. Connor isn’t looking. Stormy’s fake smile. Shayne squinting and Coop…wanted to see what was around him.

Who got pooped on?

Me.
